Our class just won a silver at our first wine festival
The winemaking class at YVCC just won a silver award for our rose. The wine bears a label design that I am proud to say came from our class. I did the front graphics and other classmates did the tasting notes on the back. It is so fun to name a wine and watch it earn awards for what is in the bottle! Check out Yakima Valley Vintners “Teachers Pet”, rose wine made from cofermented Mourvedre and Viogner.
The awards are lsited on a great blog, Wine Press Northwest. Way to class! And thanks so much to Mark Wysling of Parejas Cellars who directed our class in making this wine. And thanks to our prof, Trent Ball at YVCC for keeping us on track and Naches Heights Vineyards for the grapes.

Parejas Cellars Website Open for Business
Just as we anticipate the release of Mark Wysling’s first wines under his new Parejas Cellars brand, his new website is published. This is timed with the release of his latest wines to enhance sales and access to information about his new venture.
TTB approval is pending on the new labels which were also designed by Cellar Door Consultants founding partner, Melodie Smith. Melodie’s formal fine arts background enables her to take a client’s concept and bring it to reality with a combination of artistic talent with the paint brush and the computer. Her work is exemplified in the logo design and the background art for the debut Parejas Cellars wine labels.
The wines are coming out as soon as the labels are approved and the new website is active now. Take a look at www.parejascellars.com . Additional web features will be added shortly, including the winemakers blog and links for Mark’s restaurant and wine shop partners.
